Shield of Faith

Can you picture a shield; a shield that is impenetrable, a shield that is embellished with gold and silver; the most fantastic looking shield you have ever seen. This is what the shield of faith is made up of. The shield of faith is made up of the faith you have in God; because through God anything is possible. No matter how hard, you think, the task is that God picks for you He will make it happen. I am a good example of this, just a few years ago I would have never thought that God would have called me to start this blog, and tell to you what I have learned, and what I have experienced in my life, at that time in my life I probably would have just laughed, and said “How could a man, such as myself, help others to find you?”.

Romans 4:18-21

18- When God promised Abraham that he would become the father of many nations, Abraham believed him. God had also said, “Your descendants will be as numerous as the stars,”even though such a promise seemed utterly impossible! 19- And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though he knew that he was too old to be a father at the age of one hundred and that Sarah, his wife, had never been able to have children.

20– Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. 21- He was absolutely convinced that God was able to do anything he promised.

Just think God told Abraham he would father children, at his age, and there would be more children of Abraham than stars in the sky. What would you say to that? Something like there is not enough Viagra in the world to make that happen? Or would you do as Abraham did and believe that you can anything through God; all you need is faith.

Some of you may read this and say What is faith? In today’s world it is very difficult to have faith in anyone. You can look around you today and see so many beliefs that have nothing to with God but, people believe in these things because they have nothing else to believe in, people are lost; wandering around this life aimlessly looking for themselves, looking for something that is real. Looking for answers to questions that no man can answer, what is the meaning of life? Why do we have so much hate and anger in this world? Why do people remember the bad things, more easily than they remember the good things? Our doctors and scientists find cures for sickness, however, two more take their place. Why?
Hebrews 11:1

1- What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see.

It is easy to believe in a tree, a car, a dog, a house, in money, and so on because we can see and hold these things in our hands. We can touch them, feel them, hear them. But, how do you have faith in something you can not do any of these things with? I know many of you are saying that is a good question and would you be so kind as to answer that one for me? My answer to you is yes, I will answer it for you. God. Jesus Christ. But that did not answer my question! Folks, I am faithful because of things that have happened to me over several years. As I started growing in Christ and reading the Holy Bible, and learning what God is offering, I said OK; let me study this and then put it into practice. I approached my faith with an open mind, with no preconceived notions. I started my journey by reading a little about what history says the way people lived in the time Christ walked this earth. After a little research I found that the people of Biblical times faced many of the questions we have today. They were not unlike you and I, and then I started reading the Bible, then I started praying and felt changes in my life start, subtle at first then, out of the blue I woke up and realized that I was no longer the person who I was a short time ago. I began caring for people, I started caring about what I do for a living, I started loving my fellow man. I started being concerned about what was going on around me. It was like I was reborn! I then accepted Jesus Christ as my savior, and I knew that with all the research, all the learning, He had already accepted me. He accepted me before I even knew what He was all about, He accepted me the day He went to the cross and died for me and for you. Folks in this day what would it hurt to just try, just give it a shot. We all want to fill that void in our hearts and in our bodies and you know the one I am talking about. The void you have tried to fill with alcohol, drugs, anger, and hatred. And you are finding out that nothing is working! It leads us to depression, anxiety, and for some to suicide. If you feel you have no where else to look or no where else go, try my suggestion. God. Jesus Christ. Do a little research with an open mind, try what the Word says, and you too will come to know Christ and I guarantee you that you will feel better, care more, and love again. Email me if you need a little boost; email me anytime; email me here:, I will be more than happy to help you get to where you want to be, where Jesus Christ wants you to be. I asked for prayer that I would not lose my DSL connection this week because I am unable to pay the bill when it was due. And some did, I did, and here I am. I am telling you that the best drug you can take for what you are feeling is Jesus Christ. All you have to do is pray this simple prayer “Jesus I know I am a sinner and I repent for my sins. I open my heart to You, that You come into my life and help me, walk with me. Please Lord walk with me and guide me. I accept You as my Savior, as I know you have already accepted me, Thank you” Amen. That is all there is to it folks. Believe in Him because He already believes in you.

1 Peter 1:6-7

6– So be truly glad! There is wonderful joy ahead, even though it is necessary for you to endure many trials for a while.

7- These trials are only to test your faith, to show that it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold–and your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold. So if your faith remains strong after being tried by fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

My prayer for you is to have a glorious Wednesday, and I pray Jesus Christ is with you as your co-pilot, as your friend as you go through the trials tomorrow brings. When you feel depressed or anxious look to Christ and ask Him to relieve you of these feelings and it will be done. Ask and you shall receive! Wow, that is powerful! All you have to do ask, in Christs name, and He will do it. Because He loves you with a love that is mightier than all evil, accept the shield God has provided you. Just say yes!

Sandals of Peace

Filed under: Uncategorized — Dan @ 9:07 pm

Sandals of Peace refers to Inner peace, and readiness. Do many of you know inner peace? In this day I see stress, anxiety, and depression. I see people walking around with guilt so great that they are in constant turmoil. How do I do this? How do I make me feel better? How can I be successful in life? If I do not please this person then they will not get done what I need them to do for me. What is inner peace folks? Read the following scripture:

Romans 5:1

1- Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.

See, when you believe you too can achieve inner peace. Would it not feel like the most wonderful thing you have ever felt, if you could achieve inner peace? I do not know know many people in this world who can say, without fibbing, that they have achieved inner peace.

Ephesians 2:14

14 –For Christ himself has made peace between us Jews and you Gentiles by making us all one people. He has broken down the wall of hostility that used to separate us.

Do you see what Jesus has done you for? Read the above scripture carefully, we are all one people under Jesus Christ, this something He has done for us. In Christ he who was once your enemy is now your friend. In Christ he who once held discontent and anger towards you is now your ally. In Christ you are now one with those who hold contempt for you. You must forgive them, no matter what they have done to you or your family. I know it is hard, because I have a next door neighbor who seems to think that I and my family are wicked. Each and everyday I greet this man with a hello how are you and he greets me with his middle finger. Granted I too am only human, and it does anger me however, I pray for this man every night and forgive him everyday. Somedays this man scares me because, I am comfortable being at work and this man being right next door (he does not work). But, I take comfort in the following scripture:

John 14:27

27“I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn’t like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

See I can take heart in knowing that my family is taken care of. I have anointed my home, my property, and I pray each and every night that Christ will watch over and protect my family. This is a great gift, Christ left for His people, Peace of mind and heart. All you have to do is believe in Him, I pray for this man next door to me, I pray that Satan stops working on him and that Christ does. You see, I see Satan using this man against me to get me to fall from grace, to greet him in the manner he greets me. When that happens then Satan will have won that battle, when you pray and forgive someone for doing something against you, you are in essence causing turmoil in their Satanistic lives, you are actually hurting Satan, becaue as a Christian you would not act the way this man does.

John 16:33

33- I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

Can you relate to this scripture, I know I can. Believe and follow the One Who has given you the ability to get past the hardships, the trials, and the sorrows that life here on earth puts on each and everyone of us each day.

John 20:21

21- He spoke to them again and said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”

And that is my prayer for you tonight, peace be with you.

I ask that you pray for me and my family as we are going through some financial trials in our lives this month.  We cannot make the DSL bill for another week, so if you do not see a new post for a bit, I will be here thinking and praying for you, and as soon at it gets turned back on I will be back here.
Have wonderful Monday and I will pray for your inner peace. Do not forget to get dressed in God’s Armor before you leave out tomorrow. God Bless you all!

Breastplate of Righteousness

The Breastplate of Righteousness is the Righteousness of Jesus in you. What does this mean to you? This righteousness of Jesus in you means that Jesus Christ, for you, took all your sins to the cross with Him and sacrificed himself for your sins; He sacrificed himself as payment in full for your sins. We are nothing without Jesus in our lives, all we are is a bunch of sinners. That’s it, but through Jesus Christ we can live, and are not destined for death.

Psalms 100:3
Acknowledge that the LORD is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture

Jesus Christ and His blood cleansed us from sin; He shed His blood on the cross for you and I. The cross freed us from bondage, and our intended or unintended selfish nature.

Watch the following scripture very closely:

Romans 3:23-24

23- For all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24- Yet now God in his gracious kindness declares us not guilty. He has done this through Christ Jesus, who has freed us by taking away our sins.

Let’s look at this closely, “For all have sinned…” if everyone has sinned, in God’s eyes we, standind alone, are not worthy of His grace. “…all fall short of God’s glorious standards…” wow, with statement alone it appears we are all doomed to death. However we, as believers, have Jesus Christ in our corner; “Yet now God in his gracious kindness declares us not guilty. He has done this through Christ Jesus, who has freed us by taking away our sins.”

How many people do you know who would go and be crucified on a cross for your sins, and only ask that you believe? I personally only know one, and that is Jesus Christ. You and I know people who care so much for others that they would literally give the shirt off their back if someone needed it, but even they can not make be forgiven of their sins except through Christ. Are you that way? If you are not, you should be. Look what Jesus Christ did, He died on the cross, and not only that but He died on the cross in the same way as if we were ever sentenced to death and put on a cross until death. The point I am trying to make here, is that crucifixion is a very slow and painful process, not quick at all. Yes, Jesus Christ is the Son of God and could have uttered a few words to stop the pain, and the agony but He did not. Jesus Christ went to the cross totally without sin, that is important. Jesus Christ is the only man who could have died for our sins because He was without sin. A sinner cannot die for other’s sins, but a sinner can be granted forgiveness for his sins by confessing those sins in the name of Jesus Christ.

Galatians 2:20-21

20– I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me. So I live my life in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21- I am not one of those who treats the grace of God as meaningless. For if we could be saved by keeping the law, then there was no need for Christ to die.

Do you see how powerful this is? As long as Christ lives inside you, inside your heart, and you carry Him where ever you go, then you too shall live.

Philippians 3:8-10

8- Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I may have Christ 9- and become one with him. I no longer count on my own goodness or my ability to obey God’s law, but I trust Christ to save me. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith. 10- As a result, I can really know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised Him from the dead. I can learn what it means to suffer with Him, sharing in his death,…

Live life, walking in God’s Word, live your life knowing that you wear The Breastplate of Righteousness, and you will find yourself a successful, happy, caring, and a loving person. What is better than that. I know too many people in this day who are sad, miserable, uncaring (except for themselves), and thinking life is unfair. Jesus Christ can balance that for you, if you will just let Him. With Christ in your life you can do anything.

Tomorrow I will go into the Sandals of Peace.

God Bless each and everyone of you, I will pray that your Saturday will be full of great things, and that you will find the breastplate of righteousness and start wearing it.

How do you use God’s Armor?

What is God’s armor? What am I talking about when I say wear God’s armor? I will address this topic and what it means to you, over the next several nights. First of all, here is a list of what I will be talking about. Belt of Truth, Breastplate of Righteousness, Sandals of Peace, Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of the spirit; God’s Word.

To start let’s look at the Belt of Truth. The belt of truth answers who God is, what God is, and who God has power over:

Today realize and carefully consider that the Lord is God in heaven above and on earth below – there is no other!

Deuteronomy 4:39

That should show you right there what I was saying about anointing and casting out demons. In the name of God you have this power; just as Jesus Christ has, and had while He was walking this earth as a person, not much different than you or I.

Why do you think that Jesus Christ walked the earth, healing people, caring for people, and even going farther, why did the The Son of God walk the earth as an average person and not as someone flaunting that He is the Son of God, by wearing gold, and silver, and clothing of nobility? He was setting an example, an example for you and I to follow. What kind of example? Jesus was able to heal the sick, the blind, whomever; but Jesus did not heal these people; the faith that these people held in the own hearts, for God and his power, healed them. That is why faith is so important to you.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

Psalms 23:1

What does this scripture mean to you? In Biblical times a herd of sheep meant that you were either a person of power or the lack of sheep meant that you were lower on hierarchical scale. So, the job of the Shepard was to watch over the sheep and protect them from wolves, and thieves. The Shepard was not just a guardian but he was also their caretaker; the Shepard made sure that the sheep had food, water, protection, and anything else they needed to survive. We, as the flock of God also are never lacking in what we need. Remember me saying Ask, Seek, Knock in an earlier entry? If you Ask God, then go out and Seek what you ask for, and Knock, it will be your’s. When you pray to God and Ask, do not be afraid that you will not get it; pray and thank God for giving it to you even if you have not received it yet. That may sound funny to you, “Why do I thank God for something I have not received?” because it shows faith, by thanking Him for what you have not received you are saying “Lord I believein You, I have faith in You, that You will provide me with what I ask”. That is true and total faith, something this world needs in these days.

He said: “I love you, Lord, my source of strength! The Lord is my high ridge, my stronghold, my deliverer. My God is my rocky summit where I take shelter, my shield, the horn that saves me, and my refuge. I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I was delivered from my enemies.

Psalms 18:1-3

Wow, that is some powerful scripture! The Lord is saying that He will shelter you from your enemies, He will deliver you out of threatening situations. But, He will only do this if you Ask Him to. Remember this part: “I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I was delivered from my enemies.” You have to pray and you have to ask, and never say “Well Lord I believe that I can take care of this one myself” because upon doing so you are binding the hands of the Lord. He will watch as you fail, and do nothing to stop it. In other words, when you go out in the world let Jesus Christ be your co-pilot in everything you set out to accomplish, and then when He fulfills what you asked for, thank Him again. “Lord …who is worthy of praise… Thank you, without you in my life I could not have accomplished this.”

Tomorrow we will discuss the “Breastplate of Righteousness”.

God Bless each and every one of you, and I pray that you will have a wonderful Thursday and that you allow God to be your co-pilot as you go into the world. Do not forget to wear the Belt of Truth tomorrow, you will need it.

Prayer, can it make a difference?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Dan @ 10:38 pm

The answer to this right off is Y E S. It can make a difference in everything you do, the way you feel about yourself, and the way you treat and interact with other people. It will make you happier, prosperous, and successful. Yes prayer will make a big difference in your life and can make a big difference in the life or lives of those you pray for.

Let me give you a link to a site I found recently, and do not get me wrong this is not an advertisement for the President or anything political as I hold the belief that, that decision is up to the individual person. However, folks whether you believe in it or not our young men and women are in the Middle East fighting a war against the oppressor, and that oppressor, in this bloggers opinion, is Satan himself. Satan is trying to bring down all walls and once and for all get rid of Israel, Irag, and any potentially threatening country in our world. However, like I said before whether you believe in the war or not, we need to pray for protection of the men and women, fellow Americans, who are over there doing their job.

Here is website that I would like for you to check out, and read it with an open mind Presidential Prayer Team please sign up and adopt a solder or soldiers and pray for their well being each and every night. If you are a believer please take 5 minutes out of your daily schedule and pray for these brave people, fighting Satan.

I am going to start a topic tomorrow on using the Armour, Helmet, Shield, and Sword of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ to your benefit and why by using this you should never be afaid.  Hope you come back for visit.

Have a wonderful Wednesday, and I will pray for each and everyone you.

May God Bless You!

Billy Graham’s Prayer for the Nation

Our Father and Our God, we praise You for Your goodness to our nation, giving us blessings far beyond what we deserve. Yet we know all is not right with America. We deeply need a moral and spiritual renewal to help us meet the many problems we face. Convict us of sin. Help us to turn to You in repentance and faith. Set our feet on the path of Your righteousness and peace. We pray today for our nation’s leaders. Give them the wisdom to know what is right, and the courage to do it. You have said, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” May this be a new era for America, as we humble ourselves and acknowledge You alone as our Savior and Lord. This we pray in Your holy name, Amen.

Who Are You To Judge?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Dan @ 10:54 am

This Church in Kansas whose members are travelling the country protesting the war by showing up at funerals, for our fallen soldiers, are nothing more than a group of people who obviously have not participated in their own Church services enough or spent the time to read God’s Word. They carry signs that read “Thank God for 9/11” and “Fag Soldier is in Hell”? They protest under the guise that God is punishing these brave fallen soldiers for Homosexuality in our country; and they are obviously happy over their deaths. So does that mean that every soldier that falls in the pursuit of protecting Freedom are homosexuals? Let’s take this a little farther, if this is the case then that would mean that everyone in this country that dies would be considered a homosexual; Including these radicals and their family members.

Who are these people to judge our fallen soldiers? Who are these people to judge me or anyone else for that matter? In my studies of the Bible I read: “Judge Not, that you be not judged.” [Mt. 7:1 KJV].

In my opinion this display is despicable, I thought we lived in a society of compassion. I may be naive in my thinking but, at the very least I was under the impression that my Bible said the same thing as their Bible. Maybe I am wrong, maybe these radicals are reading from a bible they were given that was inspired by Satan. That is the only explanation I can come up with. Folks, Satan is working overtime in this country and you and I know it; but, a great deal of you will not admit that fact. We, as Christians must pray for these radical protesters. Do not hold hatred towards them as our Bible, the true Bible, inspired by God, says to forgive;

Matthew 18: 21-22

21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?”
22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”

Romans 12: 17

17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil.

Matthew 6:14-15

14 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

This is what needs to be spoken aloud to these people, not in anger but in love, and if they do not listen then you will know that they are inspired by Satan and not God. I hear people say “I am not even going to make the effort to recognize them because of their despicable acts”. Well people we need to, and we need to be out there in Southwest Lubbock with our American Flags, and our Bibles. The reason why is that this United States of America was founded on the principles of God; “In God We Trust”. I do not care if it is politically incorrect to mention God and carry a Christian Bible into a public place and you should not either. I hope and pray for each and every one of these protesters, that when they come to our city, they are blessed by God, and that God forgives them for these things that they are doing.

My prayer for these people is this:

“God I ask that You to bless every person in this city, and every person who enters this city, and touch the hearts and souls of those who are unbelievers.  Show them the way to true righteousness, and happiness, through our saviour Jesus Christ.”

Gob Bless each and every one of you! And God Bless Army Pfc. Andrew Velez and his family.

Wow! We got rain

It was Friday (July 28), last week before the day of prayer for rain but, we received rain. The rain clouds came in from the south and were very dark. Tahoka, TX received 3 inches of raining, as reported to my by a close friend who lives there. Now Lubbock, TX did not receive a a great deal of rain but, the rain fell on the areas that needed it. The cotton crops are really bad in this area of Texas, because of the lack of rain, my friend in Tahoka, has several hundred acres of land and he does not even have a stalk of cotton up. This is bad because planting season has passed and for him it looks like he will not have a crop this year. We really need the rain to rectify this situation, there are many farmers, in this area, that will not be able to meet their loan obligations this year because of the lack of rain.

So please continue praying for rain for us. The smaller amounts of cotton that are produced will mean more will need to be imported. How this effects you is that you will start having to pay more for the cotton products you purchase you in the coming months and possibly even years.

Thank you to the people who have prayed for us, and God Bless You. Please continue the vigilance of prayer for this part of the country as this blogger will be praying for you as well.

Let it Rain on the Plains! — Day of Prayer July 30, 2006

Lubbock’s mayor and county judge have once again courageously and humbly asked believers to set aside July 30 as a day of prayer for rain on the South Plains. In previous years, as God’s people would do so, the Lord in his faithfulness has responded. It happened in 1996, the year I came to Lubbock. It happened again in 2004, when we went from having the second driest year in history
to the second wettest!

This year, local and national news outlets, including UPI, the Drudge Report,
and have picked up on the story, and now the nation is watching. The mayor reported this week that he has received emails from across the country indicating that other communities will pray with us. Pray Lubbock has received three times its normal website hits this week. We will set aside time to specifically pray for rain Sunday. Let’s see what our God will do!
